How does it work?
In return for a monthly contribution of £5, you will be entered in a monthly draw for cash prizes. At the Middlesex Association Autumn and Annual General meetings, there will be draws for the larger prizes. The value of these will depend on the size of membership. The biggest prize could be £1,000.
What happens to the money?
After the prizes have been distributed, and any expenses paid, the balance plus interest will be transferred to the Bell Restoration Fund. The Fund will use this money to help in the restoration, repair or augmentation of rings of bells in the Association area.
When the draws and what are the prizes?
At present there is a draw for two £50 prizes every month, a draw at the Autumn Association Meeting for £250 and a draw for £500 at the Association General Meeting (April) The number of prizes varies according to the membership. The organising committee reserve the right to change the prizes.
How do I join?
Complete and sign both parts of the application form - the last part is a standing order. Send it to Ian Callander NOT to your bank and he will send it on and allocate you a number (or numbers) which will be used in each draw.
Can anybody join?
Yes. You don't have to be a member of the association or even interested in bellringing - so invite your family or friends to join. The only people who can't join are the members of the organising committee. You do have to have a bank account though.
Can a Tower join in?
Yes. However, the monthly payment can only come from one bank account and any prizes won will be paid to the owner of that bank account. Neither the organising committee nor the Bell Restoration Committee will be responsible for any disputes about the operation of the Tower! Tower membership should not be viewed as an excuse for individuals not joining.
Can I buy more than one unit?
Yes. Simply complete both parts of the form showing the number of units you require and the appropriate monthly/annual payment.
Can I pay by cheque?
Standing order is the preferred way to pay or by cheque for a minimum of £90.00 (18 months subs in advance)
How do I leave?
Simply by writing to your bank and cancelling your standing order. It would be helpful if you could tell us when you do this so we know what has happened to your contribution.
