CHILD PROTECTION

The law defines ‘child’ as a person under the age of 18 for most purposes.

The Middlesex County Association and London Diocesan Guild of Church Bell Ringers (“The Middlesex Association”) takes the issue of Child Protection seriously and has provided Guidelines to its Members to ensure that:

  1. children are protected from abuse,

  2. adults working with children do not put themselves in compromising situations.

For this purpose, parents / guardians are asked to give written permission for a child to ring by signing the form below.

Parent’s / Guardian’s Permission for a Child to Ring

I give permission for the following child to ring. I have received a copy of the Middlesex Association Guidelines for Child Protection and I know the name of the bell ringer to whom I can address any questions or concerns, and how to get in touch with him/her. I will try to make sure that the child attends any teaching sessions arranged for him/her or, if this is not possible, to give notice that he/she is unable to attend.
