   Child Protection Policy

The Association adopted its Child Protection Policy at the Autumn General Meeting on 2nd October 2010.
New legislation for child protection, which was to have taken effect from November 2010, has been put on hold by the coalition government pending further consultation.
It should be noted, however, that current requirements for Criminal Records Bureau checks remain unchanged.
The Secretary of the Association will be responsible for maintaining and updating this Policy and will keep the membership informed of any developments regarding new legislation.

   200 Club Rules Update

The 200 Club has new rules from January 2011
See the 200 Club page for the differences.

    New e-mail list

There is a new e-group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mcaldg_chat) for discussion of 'almost' anything ringing wise.
Please use the original group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mcaldgringers)to make announcements and requests for ringers only.
If you would like to subscribe to either or both of the lists, visit the mcaldgringers and/or the mcaldg_chat web site.
This web site allows you to subscribe to the lists and has an archive of all mail sent to the group.

   Monthly 12 Bell Practice

These are held on the 2nd Friday of each month at St Magnus the Martyr. Lower Thames Street, from 6.30 to 8.30pm.
Ringing is determined by those attending but normally includes Cambridge.
Please note that the ringing of rounds/call changes will not happen as these are method practices.
The expectation is that attendees will be competent on 10 bells (and there are plenty of opportunities for ringing on 10 within the Association & Guild)
and ideally have done some ringing on 12 which they wish to develop further.

   Ringing and the Law

The Central Council of Church Bell Ringers wants all ringers to be aware that they do not ring in isolation, but are subject to national and church laws.
The Tower Stewardship Committee of the CCCBR has produced Guidance Notes to five areas in which conflict or problems might arise.
Details of how to access these, and an outline of what they contain, can be found in this CCCBR leaflet .
